The smell of wood smoke and rich fall colors create the quaint surroundings of The Grouse Lodge nestled in the heart of Minnesota's central hardwoods. After checking in at "The Grouse Lodge" you’re welcome to enjoy a beverage and snack before heading up to the Villa, your home away from home. For those bringing dogs there are trails near the lodge to exercise, stretch and prepare for the hunt, it's a great way for you and your dog to unwind from the jet lag and the 2.5-hour drive from Minneapolis to the farm.
The Villa is a 6-bedroom, 5 bath guest lodge overlooking Elm Lake, which serves as a fall rest area for migrating waterfowl. The Villa is located a short walk from the Grouse Lodge. We prefer single; however, each room is designed for double occupancy. The two guest rooms on the 2nd level share a bath and offers a small lounge and bar area. The first floor includes 4 guest rooms, each with a private bath and a commons area. Here you will find the full lounge in front of the old field stone fireplace, the gun room, full kitchen and laundry.
Housekeeping is done daily, providing fresh towels and general cleaning, restocked refrigerator and trash removal. For those who prefer their privacy and choose not to have your room refreshed please let us know.
The Refuge Cabin, next to the lodge, has 2 guest rooms with one bath It's perfect for a single or couple who seek a more private stay. There's a small kitchenette, microwave and mini refrigerator. The Refuge has a big porch with a wood-burning stove, and a large place for gear, kennels, or to smoke a cigar with your favorite libation.
The Granary Dining Room; The "Room of Rooms" as it's been called, is rich with Grouse Lodge history. The stories told here have created the legendary lodge where the evening social relives the days hunt and hunts from years past. It's about telling tales of great dogs, fine guns, hunters of today and long ago…in short, it's a Northwoods shrine to the sport that brings us together.
The evening social and dinner becomes as memorable as the hunt, with delicious entrée's, wine and dessert. You will find our dining room staff warm, caring, and anxious to hear about your day. It brings a delightful close to a day in our covers.
